North Korea's 2010 FIFA World Cup Squad: Where Are They Now?

Jong Tae-se: The Zainichi Korean Star

Jong Tae-se, also known as Chong Tese, is a former Zainichi Korean professional footballer who played as a forward. He was born in Japan to North Korean parents and represented North Korea at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. After the World Cup, he returned to Japan and continued his club career, eventually retiring in 2019.

Post-World Cup Career

After the World Cup, Jong Tae-se returned to Japan and joined Kawasaki Frontale. He spent three seasons with the club, winning the J1 League title in 2017. In 2018, he moved to Albirex Niigata, where he played for one season before retiring in 2019.

International Career

Jong Tae-se made his international debut for North Korea in 2007. He was a member of the squad that qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and he played in all three of North Korea's matches at the tournament. He scored one goal in the tournament, a penalty against Brazil.

Personal Life

Jong Tae-se is married to Japanese actress Rina Takeda. The couple has two children.
