Bayer AG and Covestro AG to Invest in Major Expansion at CHEMPARK Leverkusen

Largest Investment in History of CHEMPARK Leverkusen

Expansion to Create 500 New Jobs, Increase Production of Polyurethane Precursors

Leverkusen, Germany - Bayer AG and Covestro AG, two leading global chemical companies, today announced plans to invest a total of around 1 billion euros in a major expansion of their production facilities at CHEMPARK Leverkusen. The investment will be used to construct a new world-scale plant for the production of polyurethane precursors, which are essential raw materials for the manufacture of a wide range of products, including automotive parts, construction materials, and consumer goods.

The new plant is expected to come online in 2025 and will create around 500 new jobs. The expansion will also increase CHEMPARK Leverkusen's production capacity for polyurethane precursors by around 50%. This will help to meet the growing global demand for these materials, which are used in a variety of industries.
